Diana OlivaresSEC-201January 22, 2023Professor CapronBenchmark Effective Educational PractitionerA teacher’s responsibility is to teach students by observing students on their performanceand development. A teacher also assigns work and grades the classwork, homework assignments, and tests. The teacher's responsibility is to ensure that the student has learned and understood theneeded material to pass to the next grade level. Teachers also spend a large amount of the daywith students there for also responsible for being a good role models and displaying goodqualities. Teachers are also professionally responsible for holding high standards for themselvesand their students (Ames, C. 1992).Teachers also need to collaborate with other teachers andadvocate for their students to provide the best education possible.Teachers spend long amounts of time with students and not only for a few months but anentire school year, out of the 365 days in a year half of the time is spent in school. Due to thisteachers are usually seen as role models for students, which is why it is very important thatteachers remain a good and positive role models. A way to do this is by maintaining andupholding high expectations of the code of ethics, being professional, and adhering to all thepolicies that have been set in place for our protection and students' protection. The policies havebeen put in place to allow teachers and students to build and maintain a healthy and above allprofessional relationship and doing this will ensure the safety and quality education for allstudents. I have learned that what you do for one student you do the same for the other and nevertreat any students with a special preference and treat all equally. Also being a role model is
something that happens not only in the classroom but even outside, an example would be theway that teachers and other staff members treat each other and how they deal with conflict orspeak about other students. Students are always watching and paying attention even when wethink they are not they really are. It would be very unprofessional that our students to see or hearthat we are causing conflict with other staff, or we don’t treat others with grace and assume best
