Title: The Scientific Method Purpose: The scientific method is a general approach to problems that involve 4 steps: making obersvations from experimental trials, finding patterns in these observations, formulating hypotheses to predict the conclusion of an experiment, and further testing of these hypotheses to predict the conclusion of an experiment, and further testing of these hypotheses to make verification. In this lab, a reaction between alka seltzer and de- ionized water would serve as the control experiment. The following three experiments would vary because of three different variables that would be inserted into each of them. The goal of this lab was to formulate hypothesis for the outcome of each one of these experiments and then verify them by running the actual reactions. Procedure: The materials utilized during this experiment were scissors, a 50 mL beaker, a 10 mL graduated cylinder, Alka Seltzer tablets, de-inoized water, and the three variables that would be tested in this case, tap water, a stirring rod, ammonia, and
