Psychology 2 27/09/2007 16:27:00 Germinal Stage First 2 weeks after conception Zygote becomes a blastocyst Embryonic Stage 2Weeks – 8 Weeks Organogenesis Fetal Stage 2 Months – Birth Age of Viability 24-46 Weeks Pre-Natal Nutrition Anything the mother takes in goes straight to the baby. Drugs that the mother  takes reaches the embryo  and may harm them. This is called Teratogens Cocaine and Narcotics are most harmful. And You can’t take cold Medicine.  Really only Tylenol. Tobacco taken while pregnant increases the risk of SID. Babies born to mothers addicted to drugs are born addicted and doctors must  detoxify. The New Born Prefer the smell of their mother and are more comfortable with human faces.   They can recognize mother’s voice. Because they spent so much time  listening to it during pregnancy.
