Taking Screenshots/Screen Snips and Annotating ThemFor this exercise, you will need to take screenshots, annotate them, and paste them into a worddocument. It is easy to take screenshots regardless of what operating system you are using.On a Microsoft Windows-based computer:1.Hold the “Windows Key” + SHIFT + S to open the “snipping” tool. A gray cover should appearover your desktop.2.Click and drag a box around the area of your screen you wish to screenshot. Once you releasethe click, that section of screen is “copied”.3.Next, open a program that will allow you to add annotations. This may be easiest to do inMicrosoft PowerPoint.4.On a blank slide, “paste” your snipped image (using CTRL+V or Home → Paste at the topribbon).5.Now, using the “Insert” tab, annotate your slide by adding arrows and letters/textboxes in orderto appropriately label.6.When you are finished, use the snipping tool to copy the screenshot again, and paste it in yourworksheet in the appropriate place.On a Mac:1.Hold SHIFT + Command + 4, then drag the crosshair to select the portion of your screen youwant to screenshot.2.When you release your mouse, you should see either a thumbnail at the corner of your screen(which you can click to edit) or the image will be saved to your desktop.3.Open the image in a program that allows you to annotate it (like PowerPoint or similar), theninsert annotations using arrows and letters/textboxes.
