07/11/2007 10:31:00 Development 4: Neurulation and Organogenesis Cells can induce other cells to do particular things Developing hands skin layers that form between fingers—webbed fingers in embryo o cells are killed off during development which unwebs hands Limb Development (Not in textbook) Frog Gastrulation Notochord: tissue that runs just under the ectoderm. Sends out multiple  signals that tells the embryo to diffentiate into “green” neural cells.  Key Concepts from Gastrulation gastrulation sets up the 3 body layers, etoder, mesoderm, and endoderm. o gastrulation places cells in new environments that allow new cell cell to  cell interaction and inductive events Neurolation immediately follows neurolation o occurs soon after gartulation. Definiteiev anterior and postior followed  by process of making organs  o invertabrate embryos are internally segmented
