Marie liveda life of lavishness, constantly spending the Royal Families money and throwing extravagant parties. Marie would fit in perfectly with the wealthy classes of today, continuously spending money without the thought of where the next dime would come from for them to spend. Marie lived a carefree life from the time she was a small girl in school up until the time just before she was imprisoned. Marie was living a life that she was not ready for, with her being married at a very young age to help secure alliances with France and Austria. Marie was just a kid being required to do the job fit for a grown woman. At such a young age and trying to find herself, we can see that the position of power that was given to Marie Antoinette was not a good thing for her nor the people. Had Marie married at a later time in her life and not at such a young age or been given the power she had when she became Queen, I believe that she might have used her position of power in a different way to better the life of the people. The way that Marie lived her life at the time shocked and even made the middle class and especially the lower class very jealous of how she lived. Marie at first was popular with some people, mostly her friends (upper class men and women) that she helped through throwing parties and getting those people what they needed.Marie and her husband lived two totally different lives. Marie's husband put his focus towards learning through reading books while Marie lived her life through the eyes of music, parties, and lavish clothing. Marie spend a lot of her time away fromher husband and therefore that brought speculations about affairs that she was supposedly involved in.
