Abstract
Alcohol is a growing epidemic that has plague our society for many years. With more
information and treatment now available, one can only hope that the amount of people affected
will decrease. This paper examine the cause, prevalence and potential treatment for college
student with alcohol addiction. Statistic have proven that college student have endanger
themselves and others due to the effect of alcohol. The abuse of any drug will have negative
impact on family, friend, communities, therefore will much help available, the user must
recognize there is a problem and seek help. Its starts from one social drink to being a heavy
drinker where multiple drinks could be consumed over a short period of time. College Student
should not enjoy life with over-indulgence in any substance that could be addictive.

In today’s world they are many things that cause stress and somethings college student get so
overwhelm with keeping up with grades, fitting in their new school, handling the day to day
events of life so he or she decides to relax with a bottle or glass in hand that will ease the pain
and make the problem go away. “Some persons enjoy its euphoric effects, consuming it so often
that they become physically dependent on it.Other individuals abuse it because they believe that
they need alcohol to cope with the pain of living”. (Doweiko, 2015)
Like other substance, prescription or illicit, there is always a reason as to why one becomes a
slave to these addiction. A few have been mentioned in the above paragraph. This paper will
target college student between the ages of 18-22.Some of these student are from home were one
