Professor D’Arcus Geography of Music April 13 th , 2008 Rammstein and the Music of Germany I began listening to more and more rap type songs from different artists from around the country but really none of them were all too impressive nor worth listening to. It seemed that most of those artists just went with what the Americans did in their rap and hip-hop style. I chose to go a different route and go with rock and roll, where there are multiple styles and sub genres of rock. The group is Rammstein, and the title is “Du Hast” and most of their music is written and performed in German. The type of genre is industrial metal, where “This term is used quite loosely, describing everything from industrial rock bands sampling metal riffs”. 1 Rammstein is one of the later groups to develop this rather new genre of music. What is very unique about the way Rammstein writes their music is that they not only use the heavy metal type of guitar riffs and distorted vocals, but they consistently
