Causes of continuing income inequality o Women getting into more professional fields during recent years and not yet reaching the senior level in their careers o Some difference due to prejudice and discrimination towards women o A number of women will choose certain kinds of occupations, such as certain specialties in medical practice, law, and chief executive positions that pay less than other kinds of positions in those fields What can we do? o Socializing girls and boys more similarly We need to socialize children in home and in school to treat both boys and girls equally At home parents can socialize or teach their daughters to play sports, play with mechanical things, play with toys such as bulldozers and trucks along with playing with dolls, read about girls and boys doing a variety of jobs, and watch television shows that portray both girls and boys as well as men and women being active,
