Andrew Gutierez GEO 241 2/7/08 Atlas Critique In the atlas “Atlas of United States environmental issues” I found that it was a very helpful book of maps explaining what is wrong with the country today. Reading the book helped me understand where specifically there are problems, and what those problems are specifically. There is point quantitative and also area quantitative, I did not find anything that was nominal. There are a variety of different colors that signify what the problems are and the severity of the situation throughout the country. The book also zooms into specific metropolitan areas and goes deep into talking about where these problems are occurring and how badly they are effecting the region, such as, if there is an issue with pollution, air pollution in the Los Angeles area, the book would zoom in and specifically talk about each county and explain where and how bad the counties are. The scale of the map is 1:250000, only showing the United States. The atlas is very
