Archaeology is important because it helps us understand history and culture. It is a unique perspective that helps us understand the how, why, where, and when people lived. History usually focuses on the literature and written documents to give a glimpse of the past, where as archaeologists use and analyze the things people made and left behind, it allows us to see the big picture. 2. Complexity is a developed state in which it relies heavily on others for goods and services. Complex societies are generally much larger in population, bigger architectural structures and a hierarchy supported by bureaucrats. Egypt is a key example we discussed in class that characterizes the essence of a State level society. Egypt had an hierarchy, religious centers, social stratification. . . . . . .
