2001 A SPACE ODYSSEY2In 1968, Stanley Kubrick directed and produced this epic science-fiction film “2001 A space odyssey.”Kubrick is a renowned American film director and a competent screenwriter, producer and has further skills in cinematography and photography, therefore, making him be a competent film producer. Arthur C. Clarke was another great contributor to this movie being the screenplay writer of the film together with Stanley; they were able to come up with this great epic film that involves a journey to Jupiter dealing with a variety of themes. Starring in the film are, Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood who ensured the production of the film is a success. Kubrick and Clarke key objectives in the film are nominally about the exploration, in the year 2001, of that camera-shy sentient on the moon and a further journey to planet Jupiter to be able to investigate and explore more what the sentient is beaming its communication at.This film was written at the very start of the space age; this is even before the first man was able to set his foot on the moon which was in 1969. The much fascination of space has inspired the writing of this film which was able to grip the attention of most individuals at the time of release considering it is related to the space touring. This film created a scene before its release considering that in 1960, it was still that period when there was a confrontation amongst the communist U.S.S.R (Gilpin 2015). Additionally, there was considerable tension over the use of nuclear weapons leading to confusion and even created more urge and excitement to the people about whet the movie would entail. At the period when 2001was in the process of release, the Cuban missile crisis was the most recent history concerning nuclear weapons and these created a scene of instability amongst most citizens and even critics who began wondering if there was nuclear holocaust around.
