Unformatted text preview: Chris Brown January 25, 2008. Political Science Paper 1 For my paper, I chose the Republican candidate Ron Paul. I chose him because I’ve heard lots about the other candidates and very little if any from the News networks I watch. Paul sparked my interests with his tax plans for the government. On taxes, Cnn.com reports that Paul would like to impose a “Fair tax,” which would take away the federal income tax and ultimately abolish the Internal Revenue Service. This appeal for the public’s vote is also backed by his voting record in congress as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives when he voted for tax cuts passed down from President Bush in 2001 and 2003. Cnn.com also tells us that Paul was named the House’s “Top tax cutter” by the conservative magazine Human Events . This is an issue that will be important to me because I am a business major, so it is possible that I will be dealing with tax laws my whole life.
