MBA 580: PROJECT STRATEGIC BUSINESS ANALYSIS 3 Abstract Strategy analysis focuses on the long-term objective generating alternative strategies, and selecting strategies to pursue. The firm's present strategies, objectives and mission, couple with the external and internal audit information, provide a basis for generating and evaluating feasible alternative strategies. L'Oreal has numerous competitors. To have an advantage on competition, L'Oreal has to apply some strategies that include internal audit information and external opportunities that will make the company stronger. They will also prevent competitors to have an advantage over L'Oreal. This report will be based upon the effectiveness of current strategies of L'Oreal, a real global leader in every segment of the industry. Business Strategy L'Oreal is a cosmetic company, which makes some of the world's biggest beauty products. L'Oreal's success story begins in 1907. It has been the market leader in the cosmetics and toiletries market since 2001. Their products are sold in about one hundred and thirty countries worldwide. L'Oreal is divided into four categories - consumer products, professional products, luxury products, active cosmetics. They mainly focus on skin care, make-up, hair care and fragrance. L'Oreal includes some important brands such as Lancôme Paris, Garnier, Maybelline, Softsheen Carson, Matrix, and Biotherm. L'Oreal invests heavily into its research and development which gives them competitive advantage over its competitors. L’Oreal does and has always have believed in the strategy on innovation and diversification. Due to the products’ uniqueness, L’Oreal’s product became well-known and popular among all ethnic groups, not depending on gender.
