According to the law of conservation of momentum, the total momentum in a system remains the same if no external forces act on the system. The purpose of this lab was to create conservation of momentum, by re-create an elastic, impulse, inelastic, and recoil collision. An elastic, impulse, inelastic, and recoil collision was made. In the impulse collision our first step was to find the velocity and mass of the car. Secondly we added 250 grams to one of the cars and found the velocity and mass. Thirdly we found the impulse of the data that was recorded when we created the impulse collision. In the elastic collision our first step was to place the blue car at the end of the track and then place the red car 60 cm away from the blue car. Secondly we release the blue car and timed the blue car and red after the collision. Thirdly we calculated to find the velocity of the cars after the collision. In the inelastic collision our first
