You are studying a population of weevils living on sunflowers. There are three genotypes in the population that have different sizes of hooks on their feet, which affects their ability to cling to the plants. Bigger hooks allow the insects to hold on more strongly. The difference in hook size is due to the effect of a single locus and two alleles (H, h). HH individuals have 1 mm hooks; Hh have 0.5 mm; and hh have 0.25 mm. A. Is this a case of dominance, codominance or incomplete dominance? Why? Incomplete dominance because the phenotype for the heterozygote is intermediate between the values for each of the homozygotes.
