"In past surveys, smartphone ownership is highest among younger Americans, as well as those with relatively high income and education levels" (Smith, 2015) . Between the ages of 18-29 85% of those are smartphone owners. Out of the 85%, 15 % are heavily dependent on smartphones for online access. (Smith, 2015) 1) In my example, of smartphone owners being American young adults, Sample size, n = 15 Number of events of interest, x =11 Probability of event of interest, π = 0.85 = 85% 2) What is the probability that 11 out of my sample of 15 young adults are smartphone owners? The probability is 0.1156 ≈ 12%. ### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.
