For the assignments this week, I asked 10 of my friends, 5 males and 5 females, how much did they pay for their last haircut? The results for the males were \$20, \$25, \$28, \$30, and \$17. For the females, the results were \$46, \$53, \$50, \$24, and \$60. For determining the average of the 2 groups, I decided to go with the arithmetical mean, or mean, which in essence is the average of a data set. The mean is computed by adding all the values of a particular data set and dividing the result by the amount of values in the data set. If the result of the division is not an integer, the result will get approximated to the closest integer. For the males the resultant mean was \$24 while for the females the mean was 47. I noticed that for the males the values are more compact in the range of \$17 to \$30 while for the females

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
