(b) The shear and moment at A, B, and just to the left of C. Problem 2 –(a) For the beam in Problem 1a, determine the maximum moments and shears at point B. (b) For the beam in Problem 1b, determine the maximum shear in the hinge at point B. For both cases, uniformly-distributed dead load is 2 klf, uniformly distributed live load of 3 klf, and there is one movable live load of 10 kips, all acting downward. Use the influence lines both to identify the loading and to determine the quantity of interest. If both positive and negative values are possible, provide answers to both.
