This new research has shown that Stonehenge is much larger than expected! These researchers found that Cursus, a long mound north of Stonehenge, had two large pits that aligned perfectly with Stonehenge. This pit was created about four-hundred years prior to the creation of Stonehenge. That means that these pits were thought of when building the Stonehenge. Researchers believe that these pits may have guided and the people as they walked towards Stonehenge. These scientists also found that a monument that was once used for rituals, was a part of sixty standing stones, which may still be lying underground. Before this discovery, people thought that
