BUILDING TEAMS THAT WORK When I think back on the old saying, "with age comes wisdom," I remember many of the people who had significant roles in establishing the behaviors and concepts that have influenced me. There were family, church, and community members that taught me the framework for building teams by their examples in my youth. Today as an adult my involvement with my family, church and community remain the most important part of my life. One of my goals is to serve them. Wisdom also tells us that there is no "I" in the team, everyone is involved and has a part in the final outcome. Building teams that work is important to me because of the possible benefits gained by people participating in successful teams. The interaction of individuals within a unit helps to strengthen the potential for camaraderie. Teams that function well will grow as they are evolving. Members learn from the strengths and weakness of others in the group as productivity
