Step 3: Write your paragraphs and citations in the space below. Wind power is one of the best alternatives to the conventional fossil fuels. It has numerous advantages. Its non-exhaustible, non-polluting, eco-friendly, widely distributed, clean, etc.. The concept employed, is that of conversion of mechanical energy to electrical energy. As compared to other energy sources, it has the least impact on environment. Wind power accounts for about 1 percent of the electricity prod uced in the United States ( Gillam , n.d. ). Despite all the pros of wind energy, there are few cons too. Until now, there were three only three considerable disadvantages of wind farms: bird and bat deaths, cost, and disrupting the appearance of natural landscapes.(Layton, n.d.). But recent research and evidences show that wind turbines can even harm the human population’s health that lives near it. This theory is commonly known as the " wind-turbine syndrome ". (Layton, n.d.) Most of these health problems are caused due to the infrasound waves produced by fast rotating turbine blades. In DeSmogBlog | Clearing the PR Pollution That Clouds Climate Science .
