A-8 Karl Mannheim Total Conception of ideology- an ideology in a totalistic way is a general description of a belief system of a particular group which shapes that groups total understanding of the world. Particular Conception of Ideology- the way a group looks at other groups and their ideologies so when one group looks at another group “ahah that other group and their ideology is a distorted group consciousness” Clifford Geertz One of the most modern anthropologists Sees that every culture produces what he calls a set of psychogologicially comforting symbols that brings understanding to the world. Charles Taylor Social imaginary- shared standing of the world, produces common practices, widely shared sense of legitimacy based on myths, stories, folklore (something like folklore passed down) Michael Freeden Sets of core concepts that define for us justice, freedom, equality, so that other groups conceptualizations are wrong and misguided.
