Question 1 5 out of 5 points What things do you think are significant about Rousseau s earliest years, and why? Selected Answer: 1. His early childhood concerns much guilt. The fact that he killed his mother during his birth seems to weight heavily upon his soul; he speaks of his father's sadness and his devotion to her at length (665). He also feels guilty about urinating in a pan on his neighbors, and guilt over the neglect of his brother (666). He assuages that guilt later through masochism which he first experiences with Madame Lambiercier (668). The enviroment he was brought up in seems to have effected him as well. He and his father
