Question 1 5 out of 5 points What happens during the Prologue in heaven? Selected Answer: During the Prologue in Heaven, the angels praise the works of God and Mephistopheles insults humanity. He feels they have a very limited capacity for goodness or reason. Mephistopheles, or the Devil, speaks to God about a human named Faust. Faust has been confused in his service to God, and so he intends to lead him in the right direction. Mephistopheles asks God permission to try to lead Faust astray, as a test, and God agrees. God says that Faust will remember what it right in the end, because good men remember to be good even when surrounded when evil. Question 2 5 out of 5 points Describe Faust as revealed in the scenes before the devil appears. Selected Answer: Faust is wretched, even contemplating poisoning himself when he sits in his study.
