Kelly Mahoney December 17, 2007 Final Reflection Since the beginning of the semester, I believe I have gotten better at drafting and revising my essays. The Unit 1 paper was about inquiring into self. I wrote about a contradiction I found in myself. This contradiction helped me explore different aspects of my personality. I took out parts of my essay that were unnecessary to conveying my point. Since my essay was about my compulsive buying, I tried to show a different side of myself that did not care about material things. I also had to include more concrete examples of times when my values were conflicting. In my reflection for this paper, I wrote that it was hard for me to change self-criticism into self- analysis. You advised me to examine my actions and motivations for what makes me me, and not in the way of judging myself. I tried to fix theses parts but I found it pretty difficult. I also had to define my thesis more clearly to show what my stance was on Zengotitas piece. You also advised me to “establish a clearer argument that will structure my paper”. Also, you thought that “much more of me and my formulation of a position is needed”. I tried to incorporate more of my
