Glazer 1 Jay Glazer BUAD 304 Chris Bresnahan February 27, 2008 Assignment #2: Chapter 10: A Virtual Team at T.A. Stearns 1. A group interacts primarily to share information wand to make decisions to help each member perform within his or her area of responsibility. A team generates positive synergy through coordinated effort. This group is a team because in addition to working together to collectively create the extremely sophisticated software for the accounting company, their coordinated effort means that the sum of their work is greater than the parts. This aspect of synergy is what makes teams effective. 2. This group has not acted unethically. There are three models for guiding ethical action, utilitarianism, rights, and justice. Under the microscope of each model, there is nothing about resistance to disclose the improved macro technique of encoding to the company. The group found a way to benefit every party involved; the group members were able to reduce their work hours, and the company saw an increase in profit.
