Building an Introductory Paragraph I. CONTENTS An introduction paragraph must include the following: o Text Reference : the title(s) and author of the texts read. o Plot Summary : a brief review of what the author wrote about. o Claim and Reasons : which author you believe is the best based on an analysis of use of writers’ craft as well as the reason(s) why. Look at this model introduction paragraph to examine the parts. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet , Hamlet , and Macbeth are three of the best known plays in the world; however, Author titles Shakespeare is not judged as one of the best writers ever simply because his plays are so popular and well known.
