Midterm 2 Information Here is some general information about midterm 2: All multiple choice Some of the multiple choice may require you to identify code, complete code, etc. 25 questions total, 3 of which are extra credit. The extra credit questions will be denoted by "Extra Credit" Everything up through (including) lecture 18 is fair to be on the exam. It will be focused primarily on material covered since the first midterm. * Markov chains / transition matrices - Constructing transition matrices - Properties of transition matrices * Power iteration, Inverse iteration, Shifted inverse iteration - Convergence (convergence rate, what it converges to) - Computational complexity - Be able to run a few steps for a simple problem * Similarity transform - What does it mean for matrices to be similar? - How do eigenvalues / eigenvectors of similar matrices relate * Condition number of a matrix - Compute for small/easy matrix - Definition / what does it mean * Norms - Compute matrix and vector norms - Properties of norms

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
