Organizational Management MBAC 6040 Kitty Chow, Inc. Team Process – New Product Development Introduction: The purpose of this exercise is to examine the challenges that face cross-functional teams as they attempt to launch a new product. In this exercise, a 4 member cross-functional team must come up with a plan for introducing a new product. The four members of the team include representatives from: -Research and Development -Sales -Manufacturing, and -Purchasing. Each team member will receive a page of confidential instructions from their respective department. Under no circumstances are you to exchange these written notes with other team members . However, you are free to discuss any of the items on your information sheet in an effort to arrive at a new product plan. This exercise deliberately does not include any specific financial information. It is not an exercise to find an optimal financial answer. Rather, teams are expected to discuss relevant issues and develop a recommendation, supported by the information they do
