Introduction Jefferies (2008) notes that World War II had profound effect on American homes. Economically, a lot of Americans went back to work to produce weapons for use in the war. Besides, Jeffries (2008) notes that Americans had cope with Shortage of basic commodities such as sugar and gasoline. Winkler (2002) notes that women and black people got their redemption during the war as they were hired to replace men who left working for factories to go and join the war. Accordingly, the presentation details how the war affected different aspects of American lives.
Economic Characteristics Increased to marginal tax rates from 81 percent to 94 percent. Incomes subject to high tax rates reduced from five million dollars to two hundred thousand dollars. Besides, employees were subject to payment of taxes regardless how low their income was.
