ENGRI 115 Engineering Applications of OR Fall 2007 Linear Programming – Formulation Problems Homework 7 Due date: Tuesday , November 20 in class. References: Lecture notes; Lab 9; Winston 3.1-3.5, 3.8, 3.9. The first four problems are practice problems, DO NOT hand them in. The TAs will be glad to help you if you have any questions. 1. Winston, page 63, Problems 1-2. 2. Winston, page 76, Problem 5. 3. Winston, page 93, Problem 6. 4. Winston, page 97, Problem 2. The following four problems are the hand-in problems. If you are not sure where to start, read first the relevant sections from Winston (see above). Each of the following problems is worth 10 points. You can get extra credit for solving the problems with AMPL. For this, you have to have a reasonable formulation of the problem (on paper). You need to hand in a printout with the AMPL formulation and the results that AMPL produced. You can receive up to 2.5 points for each problem solved with AMPL. 5. Winston, page 71, Problem 4.
