Reaction Paper 2 I found Professor McLaughlin’s presentation on marketing most interesting and professional. First, Professor McLaughlin gave us a warm introduction about himself. His love for sports and his devotion to his work was evident in the sling wrapped around his shoulder. Professor McLaughlin gave an interesting introduction to marketing. By, using products that we are all familiar with and use every day, we were able to relate to his presentation. His examples dealing with the iPhone and blackberry were particularly interesting. I additionally liked his “experiment” dealing with Wrigley’s gum in his class. By adding a question on his test about whether the student was chewing gum or not, McLaughlin was able to link students’ grades with whether they chewed gum. His conclusion was that students who chewed gum got higher grades. Although this experiment seems fun and a little over the top, it is actually something that people in the marketing industry would pay attention to. They know that it could be something
