Results and Discussion : An experiment was performed in order to determine the density of an unknown liquid and an unknown solid. The density was determined by measuring the mass and volume of the unknown matter. The mass of the solid was measured by using an electronic balance, while its volume was measured by displacement of water, the initial volume of water was subtracted from the total volume of the water and the unknown solid combined. For the unknown liquid, the volume was determined by using a graduated cylinder, while its mass was measured by also using an electronic balance. Three experimental trials were performed for the measuring the mass and volume of the unknown solid. The data and calculated results are tabulated. Table 1: Volume and Mass of the Unknown Solid: Trial Mass(g) Initial Volume(mL) Water Total Volume(mL) Water+Unknown Volume of Unknown Solid (mL) 1 10.229 10 13.5 3.5 2 10.228 10 13.5 3.5 3 10.228 10 13.5 3.5 The volume of the solid was calculated from the result of the displacement of water. As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
