Samantha Winter 10.11.16 Critical Reflection Question #4 Winter 1 Miss Representation As I sat in The Reflective Woman class and watched “Miss Representation”, a lot of points were brought to my attention, such as women being portrayed as “sexy” or “beautiful”, women having different rights than men, and the government's view on women. Women have always been portrayed on media as being skinny, fit, wearing nice clothes, and wearing make-up. My person opinion on women is if they have the body parts of a women, they are then a woman. Women don’t have to wear make -up, wear dresses all the time, or be skinny to be considered a woman. Both boys and girls, are taught at a very young age that women should not have the characteristics that a male could have, such as being obese, hanging around in the mud, or wearing baggy clothes.
