Thus, H continues to be pumped in via ATP synthase, just without making ATP. Uncouples Atracytloside. DNP Inner mito membrane Allows H to inter the matrix freely so that H no longer goes thro the ATP synthase when a high [ ] of DNP is present. Uncouples atractyloside and olygomycin Atractyloside Adenine Nucleotide transferase Prevents ADP from entering the matrix and prevents ATP from leaving Oligomycin ATP synthase Inhibits H flow through the synthase machine and thus stops ATP production Rotenone Complex 1 (FES =>UQ) Stops the ETC at complex 1. Can be bypassed via the addition of succinate or the addition of glycerol phosphate Antimycin A Complex 3 (cyto b => FES) Stops the ETC at complex 3. Can be bypassed via the addition of ascorbate. Cyanide (CN); N3; CO
