Ian Judd Business Recitation Prof. K April 28 th , 2008 Assignment #2 I personally think that banks and credit card companies do take advantage of younger customers. The reason that they do this is because they see so much potential profit in their inexperience. The banks and credit card companies feel that to a college student, a credit card seems like free money. Sadly this is sometimes what college students in fact believe. These major companies also count on students not paying on time, which accumulates debt. Another main reason that they target younger customers is because if they are able to sell them a credit card, even if it includes a free T-shirt, they are more likely to keep that person as a customer for a long time. Many colleges are paid by banks to help them market credit cards to the university’s students. Some schools are even paid in the millions to give out student’s personal information. Many students feel that getting a credit card in college is a good idea because it can help them
