Alphonse Capone also know was Al Capone or Scarface, was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1899. Capone’s family had immigrated to the United States, in search of a better lifestyle. In the sixth grade Capone dropped out of school and joined a gang led by Johnny Torrio. In 1920, he moved out to Chicago, with Torrio and was connected to the Colosimo mob. The National Prohibition Act took affect in 1920, which helped make Capone and his gang more successful. They were able to bootleg and distribute beer and liquor. In one incident Capone’s gang members disguised themselves as policeman doing a raid only to open fire on the Moran gang. Later Capone was brought to court for tax evasion, to which he plead guilty. During the 7 and a half years Capone was in prison he became very ill from syphilis, which triggered paresis. He died January 25, 1947 in Florida....
