Then respond to this question: Should the United States perform a 100% survey of the entire population every 10 years, or should a statistical sample be gathered and analyzed? Why? What are some of the benefits to a sample? What are some of disadvantages? A system should be devised where a 100 percent survey is conducted in suburban and rural area, and spatial analysis done in cities. The United States has many different vernacular regions, three of them being urban, suburban and rural. The census is a survey of everyone in the US population, as mandated by the constitution. In many parts of America, there are people that are suspicious about the intentions of the survey many inner-city residents believe the data will be used to harm them in some way, i.e. deportation, calls to jury duty and to generally avoid trouble with government agencies.
