The pyramids of Egypt are the greatest structures ever built in the world. The pyramids are one of the most important examples of architecture of Egypt. Most were built during the Old and middle kingdom periods. The old periods pyramids are Djozer, Sneferu (bent), Sneferu (red), Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, and Sahure. The middle kingdom periods pyramids are Sneferu (ruined), Djedefre, Neferirkare Kakai, Nyuserre Ini, Amenemhat I, Amenemhat III, Senusret I and Senusret II. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the largest pyramid in the Egypt. The pyramids made by bricks and stones. Most of them took about 27 years to build. In the Egypt, the people called a pyramid as “mer”. The word “mer” is also used for the county of Egypt. The great pyramid of Giza is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The pyramid’s peaks are covered with gold and covered their faces with white limestone. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_pyramids ) In the modern world, people think that the Egyptians building styles remain same in the period of Egyptian history. But that’s not a truth. “The Egyptians built different kinds of buildings at different times, just like any other group of people” (Egyptian Architecture), from the beginning of the Old Kingdom to the end of the New Kingdom. In the early part of the Old Kingdom, the Egyptians built building like house with flat roof. Then throughout most of the Old kingdom, the Egyptian people built the pyramids.
