Kuntal Patel African-American Studies Donnetrice Allison 04/22/2008 Film Analysis The movie “Baadasssss” is very good film. That movie is about, the African American man Melvin Van Peeble. In that movie, he struggled a lot to make a movie called “Baadasssss” in Hollywood industry. I do not think that the film depict any stereotypical images of African Americans, such as those portrayed in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. In 1970s country was changing and civil right movement was progressing. Still in the Hollywood industry, African- Americans relations were wick. The African-American man Melvin van peeble took opportunity to jump into the Hollywood industry and make film with self finance, the film about a black man fighting against to the system. Melvin spends his all money to make a movie on reality and his movie became huge hit in Hollywood industry. Melvin’s intention was to make a film that was “real”.
