NATS 1201: Environmental Systems Exam 3 Review Use this review exercise as a guide to help you prepare for the third exam. Do not view this as everything you will need to know for the exam. The exam will cover lecture material, videos, related readings from the text, and lab. The exam consists of three parts: 25 multiple choice questions test your understanding of basic concepts, 15 matching questions to evaluate your understanding of terminology, and 20 points of diagrams to allow you to demonstrate your problem-solving skills as applied to the lecture material. The exam is designed to take 45 minutes to complete - you will be given 60 minutes for the exam. Basic Concepts . Be sure that you understand the following: Newton's Laws of Motion - first, second, and third laws Atmospheric motion forces - pressure gradient force, Coriolis deflection, friction, centripetal force, gravity Winds Aloft - motion forces, geostrophic and gradient balances and winds, resultant air flow around high and low pressure
