1) Vancomycin was treated against infections especially towards staphylococcus aureus in Hospitals however, it had started developing resistance. There has been increasing number of resistance to Vancomycin by species such as Enterococcus. The emergence of Vancomycin resistance in Enterococcus had increased the chances to the possibility of horizontal transmission of resistance to S. aureus. There was a study being conducted in Khartoum State to determine the prevalence of Vancomycin resistance staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) among Methicillin resistant S. aureus (MRSA). Furthermore, during the study the resistance to vancomycin was detected by two process: Agar diffusion test to detect vancomycin resistance (≤ 9 mm) which was considered resistant (12) and E-test for determination of vancomycin MIC. The study had recommended the drug pairs in combination that interact synergistic can be more effective because they prevent the growth of drug-sensitive pathogens more efficiently based on the amount of drug given.
