Week 4 Discussion Cache Memory and Multicore Processors -...

This preview shows page 1 - 2 out of 2 pages.

From the e-Activity, determine the type of cache memory (i.e., Level 1, Level 2, or another type) that resides on a computer that you own or on a computer that you would consider purchasing. Examine the primary manner in which the type of cache memory that you have identified interfaces with the CPU and memory on your computer. Determine which type of cache memory is the most efficient, and provide one (1) example that depicts the manner in which the use of one (1) type of cache memory makes your computer processing more efficient than another. Cache memory stores data instructions that is used frequently. Cache memory is much faster that the rest of the main memory. Using storing data instructions and cache speeds up the CPU because it takes less time to access data instructions stored in cache. A lot of people says that CPU is the brain of the computer and its just billions of switches on and off and it is all controlled by one electrical signal called “clock”. When people talk about the clock
