In an effort, to reverse this downward trend Pay’s Apple Distributors is going to expand its export of Apples into Germany. The population of Germany accounts for over 1% of the entire world population in spite of this their economy power firmly situated right behind the United States, Japan, and China. By moving in to this market Pay’s Apple Distributors can increase sales and global influence on the apple market and hopefully move ahead of China. Through the research that was conducted, it has been made clear that the German economy sustains the growth demand needed to make entry into this market worth the investment. The market structure already established is extremely similar to the market in the United States. This will make the initial importation of apples into Germany easier and more cost effective than in a less developed country. Another positive is that Germany has already been established as one of the biggest importers of apples in the world with 658,442 tons (25 Countries That Import The Most Apples, 2016). Additionally, their location further allows for expansion into other European markets as an already established entry point.Italy, France, and Chile are the other 3 of the 5 top exporters of apples that would make up the bulk of the competition we would see in this market.
