Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to study the motion of a simple pendulum; which includes its amplitude and frequency and the relationships between them. Apparatus and Method: The equipment used for these experiments was the pendulum, meter stick, lab stand, computer, motion Sensor and DataStudio. The method used for the experiments was simple. We attached a pendulum (a block of wood with string attached) to the lab stand and adjusted the string length to 110 cm. We adjusted the motion sensor so its top was level with the top of the block of wood and its face was 60 cm from end of the wood. The DataStudio software and motion sensor was used to capture the pendulum motion. The pendulum is simply pulled back to a distance and released and then the record button was pushed in the DataStudio software. The base of the lab stand needs to be stabilized because the wobbling will corrupt the recorded data. Throughout the experiment the string length, pendulum
