Concentrating: Activities I. Activity 1 a. Write three examples of how students who concentrate well might feel, think, and work toward successfully completing their coursework. i. Students who concentrate well will feel they are making use of their time more efficiently and effectively. ii. Students who concentrate well will think that they understand the material at hand better. iii. Students who concentrate well will be more successful in working towards completing their goal work because they know what is going on and they know what to do. II. Activity 5 a. Five of my internal distractions that have affected me the most while doing coursework are: i. Hunger, worrying, sleepiness, fatigue, constipation b. Five of my external distractions that have affected me the most while doing coursework are: i. Computer, girls, fraternity brothers, television, parties. III. Activity 6A a. How I can improve my study environments to make it easier to concentrate when I am studying there: i. I can try to seclude myself from distracting things. Maybe go somewhere that is not high traffic with people. I can make sure I have all the study material I need so I do not have to travel back and forth. VI. Activity 12 a. How much time did you spend on this activity before you started having trouble concentrating? i. I felt like I had trouble concentrating right from the start due to being overwhelmed with the information. b. What could you have done to help stop this problem before it happened? i. By relaxing and not worrying will help me concentrate.
