COGS3: XHTML 1/24/08 Extensible = X, increase the language itself. CSS is identical to the master slide of PowerPoint. Cascading Style Sheet = CSS. XHTML = E x tensible H yper t ext M arkup L anguage. | WYSIWYG = what you see is what you get. Do not open XHTML language in Word. Need a text editor. Use Notepad, WordPad. First type in the text, then add the tags around to format it. Type in a name for the webpage xxx.html o Note: File name can contain letters and numbers but no spaces. o Save as a Text documents (Notepad[.rtf], WordPad) The main webpage should be named index.html Well formed XHTML Docs. o The syntax rules are: Must contain one root element: <html> … . . </html> o All elements must have a start and end tag. Tags are identified b y the greater/less than symbols. The slash is the ending. o Elements must be nested properly o Attributes must be placed in the start tag and no attribute can appear more than once.
