2 Conceptual Exercises & Reflection Today we will reflect on what we learned about the methods researchers use to obtain research data, and we will reflect on what we learned about research variables and measurement precision. Lastly, we will reflect on one way a professional could use the knowledge of research variables to help improve the functioning of an organization. Methods Used Asking questions is a grave part of research in social science. To receive quality and quantity of information, researchers must know how to ask questions well. Quantitative questions provide data that is easy to analyze, but the information may be limited. Qualitative questions provide a profusion of information that may be harder to analyze. Researchers can use fixed-alternative questions when there are clearly only two options—for example, Yes or No questions.
