What is Catoptrophobia? A morbid fear of mirrors such as shattering them or seeing images deep inside of them that are bothersome to contemplate. It is important to note people with this phobia do not fear the simple being of the mirror, rather the images the mind perceives through it.

Probability of a person having this phobia.. There are no known statistics of the chances of a person having this fear or gaining it through their lifetime, but it is known to be quite rare.. However, there are multiple symptoms that reveal they do possess it such as: 1.Those who are uncomfortable with their body image will stay clear of a mirror 2.Avoiding other reflective objects happens as well, like sunglasses
